teamLab Planets is a walk-through digital art museum in Toyosu, Tokyo, where you go barefoot through water, step among mirrored floors and move through gardens that respond to people. This independent guide explains how timed tickets work, how the standard pass, Premium Pass and bundles differ, what the operator lists as reference prices, and what to settle before you pay.

Official reference prices

Yen prices as checked on 21 October 2026.

These yen amounts come from the operator's own ticket and information pages, checked on 21 October 2026. The operator uses dynamic pricing, so the date and time you choose changes the figure. They are reference prices, not live quotes. A seller such as Headout shows its own total in its own currency and may differ, so trust the total at checkout, not this page.

Standard, Premium and bundles

Choose the ticket type before the seller.

Standard entrance

The ordinary timed ticket: one date, one entry window, one visit. It suits visitors who can commit to a time and do not need entrance-priority access. The checked Headout standard product states that it cannot be cancelled or rescheduled, so choose the date when your plans are firm.

Premium Pass

Premium gives priority entrance on your chosen date, within the time window printed on the ticket. It shortens the wait at the front door only. You still queue for popular artworks inside, you cannot leave and re-enter, and the window still applies. The operator sets different change rules for Premium, so read its pass-specific conditions.

Bundles

Headout's collection page lists bundle products alongside single tickets. Compare the exact inclusions before choosing: transport, another attraction or other extras belong only to a product that explicitly includes them. Standard Planets admission does not by itself provide Tokyo Skytree entry, airport transfers or a subway pass. Check each component's booking requirements and validity.

Timed entry

How booking works.

Tickets are timed and sold online

The operator sells no tickets on site. Choose a date and entry window in advance, and check the online calendar before you plan around a day. Release announcements are made month by month, and no fixed lead time is verified, so do not rely on a rule borrowed from another attraction.

Where your entry code comes from

Official-store tickets show their entry QR code from midnight on the admission date, and a confirmation email is not the same as that active code. A Headout voucher follows Headout's instructions, so keep its delivery email and follow it rather than assuming the official process.

Arrive for your window

The operator advises asking staff on the day if you are late, within operating hours, and says last admission is one hour before closing. No universal grace period is promised. If delayed, contact the seller you bought from and the staff, and do not assume the ticket is automatically lost or automatically honoured.

No re-entry

Once you leave, you cannot come back in. Plan meals and collect anything essential from outside storage before admission. Small lockers are reached after the entrance gate, so keep your entry code accessible until the admission checks are complete.

What you will see

Water, gardens and a forest to play in.

The old shorthand of four rooms and two gardens is out of date. The current exhibition spans Water, Garden, Athletics Forest and Open-Air works, and individual pieces rotate, so treat the list below as examples verified on the operator's page, not a complete inventory.

  • The Infinite Crystal Universe

A dark room of light points that appear to hang in space, shifting as people move through them. It is one of the works named on the operator's exhibition page.

  • Drawing on the Water Surface Created by the Dance of Koi and People - Infinity

Shallow water carries projected koi that react as you wade. Expect to be barefoot and wet to about the calf or, in places, the knee.

  • Floating Flower Garden

Living orchids hang overhead, rising to create space as visitors approach. It is a garden made with real plants, not simply a projected flower image. Availability of individual garden works can change, particularly in severe weather.

  • Moss Garden of Resonating Microcosms

Egg-shaped objects stand among moss, responding to touch and wind with light and sound. Their appearance changes between daylight and after sunset. Check conditions for this outdoor garden rather than assuming every work is available in all weather.

  • Athletics Forest

An active zone with Future Park and the Catching and Collecting Forest. It suits children and anyone wanting to move, rather than wade.

Plan the visit

Duration, hours and the calendar.

How long to allow

For planning, reserve a flexible two- to three-hour block rather than treating that as an operator-set duration or time limit. Queues for individual works, your pace and any children change how long you need. Leave a margin before the next appointment instead of arranging a tight reservation immediately afterwards.

Hours and calendar

Opening hours vary by date and area. The ticket calendar and last admission matter more than any single schedule printed elsewhere, including this one. Check the day itself, and remember last admission is one hour before closing.

Dates on the venue

The operator's current exhibition runs through the end of 2027 at the Toyosu venue. Do not assume it is permanent, and do not confuse it with another teamLab museum.

Water, mirrors and clothing.

Water areas are barefoot. You remove shoes, socks and tights in the locker area, and water can reach an adult's knees. Mirrored floors can reflect upward, so skirts and wide-hemmed trousers are awkward; rental shorts are available free from staff, but plan your outfit rather than relying on them. Towels are provided afterwards. Free lockers are small, 23 cm wide, 34 cm deep and 37 cm high, so leave suitcases at your hotel. Our clothing guide has the full checklist. Read what to wear to teamLab Planets.

Families, access and sensory cautions

Know before you go.

Children

Strollers stay in the designated outside storage area. Official guidance allows one adult per three children, free entrants included. Hold hands in dark and water areas and bring dry clothes. It is not a swimming pool, and small children can tire quickly.

Wheelchair users

Routes depend on the artwork. Your own chair with tyre covers may be possible, some water works require transfer to a special chair, some physical works cannot be experienced seated, and certain works are not accessible. Staff explain routes, cannot push chairs inside water works, and companion needs should be confirmed first. Do not assume every area is accessible.

Sensory and health cautions

The exhibition includes flashing light, darkness, confined and high spaces, and physical activity. Visitors can ask staff for detours. This guide gives no medical clearance; ask your doctor if unsure.

Arrival

6-1-16 Toyosu, Koto-ku, Tokyo 135-0061

  • Shin-Toyosu (Yurikamome)

About one minute on foot. Turn right from the ticket gate to the North Exit.

  • Toyosu (Tokyo Metro Yurakucho line)

About ten minutes on foot. Take Exit 7 and follow the elevated Yurikamome tracks.

  • Shijo-mae (Yurikamome)

About five minutes on foot, handy if combining with Toyosu Market.

These are station-to-venue walking estimates, not total journey times or step-free promises. There is no car park. Public buses towards Shin-Toyosu may be congested; the train is the clearer default. See how to get to teamLab Planets.

Cancellation and changes

Rules depend on the seller.

Official store

Standard official-store tickets cannot be cancelled or refunded after purchase. Eligible tickets may change date or time up to three times until two hours before entry, subject to exclusions and availability. Premium has a different, earlier deadline, currently 08:30 on the admission date, so check the pass-specific conditions.

Headout

The checked Headout standard product states it cannot be cancelled or rescheduled. That is the seller's condition for that product and is separate from official-store change rights, which do not transfer to Headout. Ignore any site-wide flexibility promise for this ticket, and read the terms of the exact product at checkout.

teamLab Planets tickets: frequently asked questions

Can I buy teamLab Planets tickets at the door?
No. The operator sells no tickets on site. Book a timed ticket online in advance and check its calendar.
What is the difference between standard and Premium?
Premium gives priority at the entrance on your chosen date within its time window. It does not skip queues for artworks inside and does not permit re-entry.
Is the Headout price the same as the official one?
Not necessarily. The yen figures here are dated official references with dynamic pricing. Headout shows its own total at checkout, which is the amount that matters.
Can I cancel or reschedule a Headout standard ticket?
The checked Headout standard product states it cannot be cancelled or rescheduled. Official-store change rules apply only to official-store tickets.
Do I need to take my shoes off?
Yes, water areas are barefoot. Remove shoes, socks and tights in the locker area, and expect water up to an adult's knees.
Is it suitable for wheelchair users?
Partly, depending on the work. Some require transfer, some cannot be experienced seated and some are inaccessible. Staff explain routes. Confirm companion needs beforehand.
How do I get there?
Shin-Toyosu on the Yurikamome is about one minute on foot. Toyosu on the Yurakucho line is about ten minutes.
Are there senior discounts?
No senior tier was verified, so none is listed here. Check categories at selection.
Is a three-year-old free?
The Japanese original labels the free category as ages three and under, while some English labels say under 3. Confirm when booking through a seller.
Does a ticket cover Borderless too?
No. Borderless at Azabudai Hills is a separate museum and needs its own ticket.
